Sharon Braddy

I began my radio career in Thomaston, GA and then came to Manchester, GA to work at WFDR 1370 AM, for owner-manager Jack Whitehorn.  In Manchester, I hosted a rock and roll show.  I also made advertising spots along with other on-air work.

After several years on the air, I left radio, married and started a family.  Ten years later I returned to WFDR, which was still under the ownership of Jack Whitehorn.

In my career, I have interviewed many stars including Elvis Presley.  I was selected the first female DJ of the month with DJ Monthly magazine.  After ownership and format changes at WFDR, I left again with the assumption that I was out of radio forever.

Many years passed when two of my friends, Jeff Tate and Bear O’Brian (two well known radio personalities with whom I had worked with in the past) contacted me about doing a ‘classic country music’ show.  Since radio has been a passion in my life, I did not hesitate and said ‘Yes’ to my friends.  I have once again returned to radio.  I hosted my first ‘Country Classic Music” show live on Saturday night, January 19, 2008.  My show, featuring classic country music, can be heard every Saturday night from 7:00 PM until 10:00 PM
